BREAKING: Man, 76, seriously hurt after being hit by car with driver arrested
The man was knocked down by a Vauxhall Astra on Wood Street, near the Aldi store and Albion Inn pub, at around 1.35pm yesterday . He was rushed to hospital from the scene, police said.
A cordon was put in place on Wood Street yesterday as investigations were carried out. The road was closed for several hours with pictures showing a car with a cracked windscreen in the cordon.
