Paul Kerr targetted the couple following a row about the Glasgow band
The stalker brother of Simple Minds frontman, Jim Kerr, has been jailed for the second time, leaving his victims relieved.
The estranged brother of singer Jim Kerr was already serving nine years behind bars for terrorising the couple over a year-long period.Kerr, 59, from Brighton, targeted the couple following a row about the Glasgow band. The ordeal initially began in January 2018 after John replied to a post on Kerr’s Facebook page about new album, Walk Between Worlds, being “pure s***”.
At a trial at Lewes Crown Court in October 2019, Kerr, of Brighton, denied harassing the couple between January and November 2018. He was found guilty of two charges of stalking against them and one of stalking an ex-partner. In January 2020 Kerr was jailed for nine years.However, days later, letters in Kerr’s name started arriving at John’s current and previous employers containing false allegations about him.
