They will hit the roads in to areas next month
There's just a month to go until Bee Network buses will hit the roads in two Greater Manchester neighbourhoods. Passengers will start noticing differences to travel within weeks.
Some of these new buses were unveiled at a bus depot in Wigan this morning . At the event, Mr Burnham also made a series of announcements. Next month, a new 'multi-modal' ticket for buses and trams will be available on all services, not just those which are part of the Bee Network. Prices depend on when and where a passenger is going, but it will cut the cost of travelling on bus and tram by 20 pc, according to Transport for Greater Manchester .
The new app will also encourage passengers to rate their journey. Transport bosses will then use this feedback to shape the Bee Network in the future. Mr Burham said he believes all of these changes will help Greater Manchester grow. He said: "It's absolutely fundamental to a growing economy, to have a public transport system that's of a higher standard than the one we've had.
