The White House insisted 'there is no indication of aliens or extra-terrestrial activity' as officials said efforts are under way to assess the risk posed by unidentified objects
“Dozens” of countries including close US allies have faced incursions by Chinese spy balloons that “were not picked up” by their governments or previous US administrations, officials say.
The admiral said the US had “not been able to definitively assess” what some of the objects shot down are, with the exception of thewhich has been partially recovered, and had acted out of an “abundance of caution” to shoot them down. They did not appear to be communicating externally, he said. He added: “For reasons you will all understand, we cannot publicly go into many details about how we discover and counteract foreign intelligence collection efforts, because much of what we have done, and are doing, is sensitive.
