Coleen Nolan has bravely opened up about her skin cancer diagnosis after keeping initially keeping the news from her family. The TV star spoke out during Loose Women on Monday in a bid to encourage others to get things checked if they're ever concerned.

Sharing how one of her sisters was concerned every time she'd see her with a short-sleeved top on, Coleen dismissed the mark as being eczema. However, Coleen later decided to see a dermatologist where she was told she had skin cancer and would need to start treatment straight away.Speaking to her co-stars, Coleen explained how she was told that if the cream prescribed didn't work, she would need to have the skin cut out.

"Anyway, I went back in and he was very good and he said, 'Look, it is nothing to worry about, it is a cancer which doesn't necessarily spread but you do need to treat it'. We will treat it with cream', you know chemo cream, 'if that doesn't work we will cut it out and give you a skin graft'." Coleen and Linda's sister Bernie also died from cancer 10 years ago, while their sibling Anne has also battled the disease. She was told she had stage three breast cancer in April 2020 before Linda found out she had incurable liver cancer just a few days later.
