Latest Nottingham Forest news as Steve Cooper's Reds draw 0-0 with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park
Head coach Steve Cooper admitted to a slight sense of disappointment as Nottingham Forest drew 0-0 with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. The Reds put together some nice passages of play, particularly in the first half, and created some decent chances. They just couldn’t quite find the cutting edge to make it count.
The hosts had some good opportunities, too, but Morgan Gibbs-White and Murillo went close to scoring what would have been goal of the season contenders for Forest. Nevertheless, there was plenty for Cooper to be positive about going into the international break. “If anyone deserved to win, it was us,” the Welshman said. “That was clear with the chances in the game and the general way the game went.“There’s a little feeling of disappointment in the dressing room, for sure.
“We want to be winning games, especially when we have chances like we did and how we played in the first half. But we’ve also got to respect that we kept a clean-sheet against a Palace side who have got injuries but are also a really experienced team. For us to play like that is something which, overall, will be a real positive. I’ll look at both sides of it.”
