Ricky Hamblin subjected his partner to a vicious assault, the court heard
A couple's getaway to celebrate the boyfriend's birthday ended in screams after he locked his partner inside their hotel room. A court heard Ricky Hamblin's girlfriend, Natalie Kelley, screamed for help from a balcony following a vicious drunken assault.
The complainant made to leave the room at this, but he blocked her path and locked the door. Ms Kelley attempted to use her phone to call for help, but Hamblin - of Pembroke Road in Bootle - took it from her. He also bit her on the arm during the incident and had left cigarette burns on the carpets. Police attended the scene and arrested him outside the premises.
"The other tragic feature about this defendant, and it is why the defendant has had a difficult life, is the fact that both his parents were murdered when he was a teenager. It is perhaps no surprise that the defendant developed an antecedent background."
