Just heartbreaking
An experienced motorcyclist was killed when he crashed his bike while on his way home from a ride out to Newcastle with friends.
"Martin overtook the white Mercedes and managed to get back on the Alston-bound lane before the solid white lines started," he said. "He was travelling at between 70mph and 75mph. Within the next three seconds I saw an object flying up into the air. I knew something was wrong and I couldn't see Martin and his bike."
"He just loved driving," Mrs Cooke said. "He worked at Metcalfe and was there for 29 years. He obtained teaching qualifications to teach others to drive HGVs." "Martin has approached the left-hand bend at a speed he believed was too high for him to safely negotiate the bend."
