Burnley's king of the airwaves Jordan North has stunned listeners with his ridiculously literal name for an omelette.
The Radio One DJ co-presents the Sexted My Boss podcast with William Hanson, and grew up in Burnley. He then moved to Preston as a young boy. It was on his podcast where he divulged the unusual collection of words he uses to describe the classic egg dish. He added that locals in Burnley use the different and unusual phrase when referring to an omelette.He said to co-host William: "Do you know what they call omelette in Burnley? Egg round t'pan. I remember saying to someone at uni 'do you want some egg round t'pan?'
Many TikTok users from Burnley said they had "never heard" the phrase. Liam said: "Never heard this and I'm from Burnley" while Chloe said: "As someone who is also from Burnley and lived round here for most of my life I can honestly say I've never heard someone say that." However, one TikTok user said they had heard the phrase before. Posting under the name The beauty corner, the user said: "I'm from Burnley, I've never heard anybody else other than my family [use it] up till now."
