Legends of the game
When Anna Federici watched the last remaining pub in her village shut for good, she knew it was time for her to set up her business. The corner shop in Weir, near Bacup had sat depressingly empty for several years and Anna had walked past it countless times.
"I'd always wanted to set up my own business but I just didn't know what," Anna, who worked in marketing for 14 years, working her way up to head of communication of an NHS trust before setting up her business, told LancsLive. "When the last pub closed, it was quite sad as there was nothing left in the village to grab a coffee or freshly-cooked food.
Anna enjoyed a relativity unorthodox childhood, living at the family's main ice cream factory and parlour in Chorley, with her three siblings. It was all entirely normal for Anna, though, and the experience, along with the family's dedication to their principles and business values have been firmly instilled into her.
"It was normal life for me. I spent months working out how best to use the layout and to make sure the menus were right." "It was a challenge but I always wanted to make sure everything travelled well, was packed in sustainable packaging and looked good - that is very important to me, I am know for my presentation."
