Looks like a sensible move
People claiming the Personal Independence Payments benefit could be affected by a major change being introduced this week. It was announced by the Department for Work and Pensions that from August 2023 there would be a new approach to the payment process.
It continued: "We know that when people reach pension age, they are more likely to keep the same PIP award following an award review. Drawing on insight from stakeholders, we have developed a simplified form focussing on how a claimant's ability to do certain everyday tasks and move around may have changed.
Which groups of people do the new rules cover? The shorter PIP renewal process will cover the following groups:
