The fire on the island of Tenerife has been burning for a week now
A major wildfire continues to burn on the Spanish island of Tenerife, with thousands of people now having been evacuated from homes and hotels.
Canary Island regional President Fernando Clavijo told Spain's Cadena SER radio "the worst is over". The blaze has come close to some 10 municipalities, but there have been no injuries or burned homes so far. The airline's flying programme also continues to operate as normal, though it is expected to continue to monitor the situation closely and should anything change, passengers are likely to be notified.
