Emmerdale's Jai star Chris Bisson shares three-word reaction as on-screen dad dies in wedding twist
Emmerdale star Chris Bisson shared a three-word reaction to his co-star's surprise exit scenes. Despite, obviously, knowing what was coming up on-screen, the Jai Sharma actor shared in fans' sadness at Bhasker Patel quitting the soap as his on-screen dad, Rishi.
Jai has on numerous occasions railed at Rishi for lying to him but after the arrival of Jai's mum, Georgia, back in the village, things went from bad to worse when Jai told his mum to leave before he later spotted her talking to Rishi, overhearing an emotional Rishi ask his ex-wife if she had told Jai 'the truth'.
While he was seen getting ready for the special day, despite the fractured relations between the pair, Jai appeared gutted as the dad he's known his whole life didn't watch him tie the knot or join in the celebrations afterwards at The Woolpack. However, fans were horrified when the final scene of the hour-long episode showed Rishi laying lifeless at the bottom of the stairs before it was confirmed that the beloved character had tragically died, with actor Bhasker leaving the role after 12 years.
