Everton's impressive display in their 3-0 win over Bournemouth was highlighted by some impressive statistics compared to their Premier League peers last weekend
Everton didn’t just get the controversial ‘xG’ statistics right in their 3-0 romp against Bournemouth but a whole host of parameters that reinforced their dominance for what was their biggest home win for almost a year.
Dyche said: “I don’t know what the xG was, it would be right up there. By the way, just to be clear, you don’t examine a whole performance on xG but it’s another marker that gives you an idea. Indeed, Everton’s xG figure against Luton Town was calculated as being 3.23 by Comparisonator which was the third-highest in the Premier League that weekend behind Arsenal and West Ham United but despite this dropping slightly to 3.1 against Bournemouth – a number that proved much closer to their actual goals scored – the Blues were ranked first for xG in the Premier League last weekend, way ahead of next best Fulham on 2.22 followed by Tottenham Hotspur on 2.18.
The Blues also had the joint most shots on target with Fulham next on six; touches in the box , ahead of Manchester United and Fulham and dribbles in the final third of the pitch to top Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham . Everton were also on their mettle at the other end too with their nine tackles the most in the Premier League ahead of Fulham and the greatest number of blocked shots .
