'Worrying seeing all the fire engines turn up'
Eyewitnesses reported at least four fire engines were called to the incident underneath the Derby Race. The incident was first reported shortly after 6pm on Tuesday .
Pictures shared on social media showed Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service at the scene. They were captioned: "Derby Racer at Blackpool Pleasure Beach is on fire. 4th engine just arrived."The Pleasure Beach said the 'small fire' was quickly dealt with after the alarm was raised. No guests were involved.
An eyewitness told LancsLive: "Luckily the fire was contained pretty quickly but worrying seeing all the fire engines turn up". In a statement on Twitter, a Pleasure Beach spokesperson said: "There was a small fire underneath the Derby Racer at approximately 6:10pm today. The fire was extinguished shortly after the alarm was raised.
"Blackpool Fire Brigade attended site to ensure the fire was fully extinguished. No guests were involved.Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for comment.
