A full closure is in place to allow the air ambulance to land
National Highways said:"The A64 near York is closed in both directions between the A19 and A1036 following a serious collision.
"North Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Ambulance service are at the scene. National Highway Traffic Officers are assisting with traffic management. At this stage it is not know how long the road will be closed for however it is anticipated it will remain closed for a number of hours whilst police conduct their investigations."If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.
