Spooks launch toughest puzzle to celebrate Alan Turing on new plastic £50 note
CODEBREAKERS at GCHQ have published their toughest ever puzzle to celebrate WW2 hero Alan Turing appearing on the new £50 note.
Turing was one of the Bletchley Park boffins who cracked the Nazi’s Enigma code which helped Britain win the war.was persecuted for being gayTuring took his own life in 1954 after being convicted of gross indecency and forced to undergo chemical castration. “Not only is it a celebration of his scientific genius which helped to shorten the war and influence the technology we still use today, it also confirms his status as one of the most iconic LGBT+ figures in the world,” Fleming said.
