Huddersfield has been left shaken up following the death of school boy Khayri McLean, who was "adored" by his class mates, family, friends, and girlfriend.
Flowers and messages of condolences have been placed outside the school in in Woodhouse Hill, Fartown. Residents as well as school pupils and parents have been in the area throughout the day confiding in one and other, and many shared with Yorkshire Live what Khayri was like, and what he meant to them.
"I phoned a taxi firm and when I got to the scene it was all taped off. I saw him lying there with paramedics around him. I went to Leeds General Infirmary with my mum." "He thought it was a normal school day, then he come out and got stabbed and didn't even get to go home and tell his mum how his day was. That shouldn't happen to anyone. The world we live in now, it's not right.
A friend of Khayri's mum, Ali Montano, said: "May you fly with the angels. RIP sorry for your loss Marcia."
