Julie McElroy used a custom three-wheeled frame runner to return to sport following an accident
She said: "I actually tore the groin muscle off my pelvis. I was in chronic pain, an excruciating burning pain. Nobody actually believed me.
"After a lot of investigations people finally believed me and I started to really think about what I wanted to do to get myself back out there."Coach Gordon Innes told Julie he saw potential in her and would be willing to train her "I could barely barely run two metres. I was just exhausted because I hadn't been actively involved in sports because of the injury."I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him and the way that he's nurtured me in the last two years and mastered my drive and motivation for frame running into road running events.
