These days Subashini Rajasekaran can't imagine her life without running just weeks after taking on her first half marathon

When Subashini Rajasekaran first moved from Southern India to Northern Ireland almost 15 years ago, running was not high on her agenda.

Since making Belfast her home, Subashini, 39, found her aspiration to run through BAWA and now she loves to take part in sports. “Luckily BAWA started some non-competitive sports and even though I felt my energy levels were low at first, I built on that before I started running.” “I realised then that I was capable of running so this year I decided to take part in the Belfast City Half Marathon for the first time and completed the course,” she said.

“It's all thanks to BAWA for being the motivation factor. I am now determined to train harder and run faster next year. Two hours and 15 minutes is my target for 2024.”
