The Alpine Club Lodge has until September 22 to make numerous improvements
An Ormskirk nightclub has been ordered to carry out a list of actions for public safety and security after a catalogue of incidents and concerns were raised running back over years, stretching from this year to 2016.
One recent discussion was held just 12 hours before an incident around the Railway Road area on July 29. That event was described by police at the council licensing review as the 'worst-case scenario'. "If the licence is not revoked, we need to know they are going to do things safely. But from my previous interactions with Alpine, they will say what you want to hear and then carry on doing things they usually do."
'PUPPET' SUPERVISOR AND BUSINESS SHAREHOLDERS Police alleged the current designated premises supervisor was, in reality, not a supervisor. It was a 'puppet' position. It was others in ownership of the business who really made the decisions. 'SLOPPY' RECORDS OF INCIDENTS PC Stephen Connolly said he had a 22-page report on Alpine. He described numerous reports and concerns, including 'sloppy' or non-existent logging of incidents, regular lack of written information about security staff, fears of overcrowding and fire safety concerns.
