Stepdad who left tragic girl with 101 injuries as mum turned blind eye jailed

Lola's biological dad Daniel Thomas told how his "beautiful, charming and cheeky" daughter was "as bright as the golden sun" with a laugh that would "fill the room with pure joy". "Lola didn't just die. She wasn't just taken from me in the worst way ever possible. She was brutally attacked. Her tiny body was savaged in the evilest way. She didn't stand a chance.
She said she rushed into the tot's bedroom to find Bevan hugging Lola but claimed she could not see any visible injuries. But the toddler suffered a sickening list of 101 "severe and extensive" injuries that "cannot be explained by a fall down the stairs". The also heard Lola had injuries to her back and legs that looked like they could have been caused by "three or four blows with a weapon".
