The party has so far refused to confirm it would stick to the ban following a leak which revealed the Prime Minister was set to announce a delay to 2035, amid suggestions the Conservatives were trying to create a dividing line with Labour.that the party is likely to recommit to the ban once studying the detail of Mr Sunak’s announcement on a series of net zero policy U-turns on Wednesday afternoon.
One source said: “We’re not going to keep changing policy based on leaks from Government and arguments inside the Tory Party.”
