The 59-year-old, who worked in Leeds, denies charges including indecent assault.
PC David Crossley worked at Leeds District Police HQ on Elland Road when the offences were reported, West Yorkshire Police said
A jury at Leeds Crown Court heard the girls did not know each other but reported similar incidents of abuse. Under cross examination, Mr Crossley, who joined the police in 1997, told the court the allegations took him "entirely by surprise". The court was told the first girl was abused from 1996 to 1998, when she was aged between nine and 11.
