🅿️ Lincoln car parks are becoming safer spaces! A commendable drop in drug-related incidents, but the mission isn't over.
Drug-related incidents in three Lincoln car parks have decreased by nearly two-thirds since the introduction of a Public Space Protection Order, according to council reports.
Before the PSPO introduction in October 2017 to September 2020, there were 189 public order incidents and 107 drug-related incidents. These disturbances include spitting at individuals and property, throwing objects from elevated areas, and damaging property. "We had a bit of an incident where they would get up on the roof and they'd start damaging the roof, so they'd start trying to slice open the roof, which led to major leaks in the top restaurant. We had to close for three weeks over Christmas."
