Loyal viewers of the daytime programme hit back at online trolls
A social media user wrote on Twitter: “What is it with ITV, are they run by some Ofcom Diversity Group. Look at this racist garbage from “Loose Women” yesterday. What is this? I know it was a commemoration of a death, but 4 Black presenters, who all have big mouths too.”i see you doing a show with an all black line up. How woke of you.
While many praised the historic presenting line-up after having majority white panels in its 22-year run on the commercial broadcaster, others took to criticise the move as “woke”. Loyal Loose Women viewers jumped to defend the panellists again from the latest onslaught. One user said: “There’s soooooooo many RACIST comments. I’m disgusted people need to get a grip. The ignorance is nasty.”
One person added: “I thought today’s show was an amazing tribute to Jamal and it was touching seeing Brenda with her close friends around her. These comments are horrendous & hopefully not the voice of the majority of viewers.”
