Toilets, questions of drug use and a hypothetical child's death dominated heated conversations during a drawn-out licensing meeting discussing expansion plans for the Lytham Festival.
He explained that those objecting the application did not want to be considered NIMBYs or killjoys, but instead wanted more consultation with the organisers. He said the application had come so late he feared it was being "slipped under the radar" and said it should be rejected before another attempt could be properly considered for 2024's festival.
"Drug abuse isn't their fault. It's endemic on our society and that's the kind of thing we have to put up with. Not just when the festival is on, if you live in the town centre near licensed bars and restaurants, it happens. You get glasses thrown in your garden."
