Police confirmed that a 70-year-old man was airlifted to hospital after the incident
A pensioner was flown by air ambulance after a medical incident sparked a huge emergency response in an East Ayrshire village last night.
The 70-year-old man was airlifted to Glasgow Royal Infirmary after he took unwell whilst working on a vehicle in Sorn.Scottish Fire and Rescue sent one fire engine to assist with the incident and an air ambulance landed near to the scene along with on the ground paramedics. Police have confirmed that a 70-year-old man was flown to hospital with the Scottish Ambulance Service confirming that he had been taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.05pm on Sunday, October 8, police were called to assist another agency at an address in Dalgain Drive, Sorn, where a man had taken unwell while working on a vehicle. A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call a 4.20pm on Sunday, October 8 to attend an incident on Dalgain Drive, Sorn. An ambulance and the air ambulance were dispatched to the scene and a patient was transported to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: "We were called to assist emergency service partners at an incident on Dalgain Drive, Sorn on Sunday, October 8 at 4.40pm."Firefighters left at 6.35pm after ensuring the area had been made safe."
