There was a significant police presence on the road for a number of hours
Radstock Road in Kensington was cordoned off at the junction of Onslow Road this morning, with five police cars, one police van, and one ambulance vehicle remaining at the scene as officers carried out door-to-door enquiries.
Merseyside Police said officers were "were dealing with an incident when a man is believed to have suffered a medical episode". The man, believed to be in his 60s, was taken to hospital, where he died a short time later.A police spokesman said: "At just before 9am officers were dealing with an incident when a man is believed to have suffered a medical episode. An ambulance was called and officers at the scene commenced first aid.
"The man was taken to hospital but has since sadly died. His next of kin have been made aware and are being supported by specially trained officers. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and house-to-house and witness enquiries are being carried out in the local area. "Road closures are currently in place while the incident is being dealt with and motorists are advised to avoid the area."
The incident has been reported to the Independent Office for Police Conduct for investigation. Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or call 101 quoting log 186 of 22nd August.
