Elisha left school after her GCSEs

Leaving school at 16 and pursuing a career in the construction industry may not be the typical path for many young girls, but it was the perfect one for one Co Fermanagh student.

Elisha, from Derrylin, has now progressed on to a Higher Level apprenticeship, where she will work with a local construction company while working towards a foundation degree in Construction Engineering at Ulster University. Reflecting on her decision to forgo A Levels, Elisha explained that she would have always preferred to be working with her hands.

Elisha, who is not a fan of exams, found the course highly rewarding. She said, "The college environment is refreshingly different from school.
