Met Office verdict on Manchester's top temperature this week as summer heat returns - but not for long
The Met Office has given its verdict on how hot Manchester will get this week as the sunshine has finally returned.
The forecaster predicted that temperatures could top 26C on Thursday, but temperatures will soon be returning to average. What's more, there are no signs of any prolonged hot spells anytime soon.A Met Office spokesperson told the Manchester Evening News: "The top temperature in Manchester this week could be 26C on Thursday, due to a brief ridge of high pressure allowing in milder temperatures from the south.
Today's forecast predicts highs of 18C, with wall-to-wall sunshine until around 9pm. Tuesday morning will see some light showers first thing, which will clear up by the late morning, making way for some sunny intervals throughout the rest of the day.
