Jose Mourinho, John Terry, Frank Lampard...Chelsea had better hope they get Nagelsmann.
The former Spain boss has been mentioned several times in recent weeks as Graham Potter teetered on the edge of the sack at Chelsea. He wants to get back into club management and this could be just the project. It’s just unlucky that he is competing with Nagelsmann. He has consistently said he has no interest in working in the Premier League and yet here he is again, linked with a Premier League job.
An intriguing prospect because his style is so far removed from that of Potter and yet it is unquestionably effective. He is one of the few managers who absolutely would not struggle with the usual Chelsea ego issues. He would last about seven minutes before lamping Todd Boehly. There were reports that the Sporting boss was lined up to replace Potter even before Potter was appointed. He was also strongly linked with the Tottenham job on the back of beating Arsenal in the Europa League.
