'Selfless, generous, a kind soul and touched every person’s lives that she ever met'
A Co Fermanagh native was one of five people killed in a shooting at a block of apartments in Ontario, Canada on Sunday.Lorraine’s family, the Johnstons from Enniskillen, emigrated to Canada in the 1950s and her cousin Charlie Johnston told the Impartial Reporter she was a ‘lovely girl’.“She was a lovely girl; she had three lovely children and I don’t know how they must be feeling,” he said.
Police in Ontario say the alleged killer Francesco Villi, 73, was then shot dead by officers in a hallway in the apartment block where the victims lived. Reading family tributes to the victims this week, York Regional Police chief Jim MacSween said Lorraine and her husband Russell were ‘soulmates’. “Lorraine Manock was the most loving mother, grandmother and sister. Selfless, generous, a kind soul and touched every person’s lives that she ever met," the police chief said.
“Russell Manock was the most hard-working, caring father and grandfather who cherished every moment he spent with his family.“They were devoted to each other and their family, soulmates in life and now in heaven. The family are devastated by this unspeakable, tragic loss.”For all the latest news, visit the Belfast Live homepage here. T o sign up to our FREE newsletters, seehere.
