A thug threw his friend eight feet over a wall which fractured her ribs and arm.The pair got into an argument which turned violent as Gray punched her to the head and body.Enraged Gray called his victim a"f***ing animal" before kicking Miss Sweeney to the floor as she lay on the ground.
Gray pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to assaulting Miss Sweeney to severe injury and danger of life.An argument broke out between Gray and Miss Sweeney about her mother. Prosecutor Jessica McGowan said:"As a result of the argument, he struck her to the face with a punch which caused her to fall to the ground.Others in the property attempted to intervene and were successful for a short time.Miss McGowan said:"Gray struck her on the body and threw her over a wall in the garden below."These stairs take you to the street level, so she fell eight feet to the concrete landing.
CCTV was played to the court of the end of the incident where Gray was heard to say the animal remark.Gray then went on to kick Miss Sweeney who was on the ground.This included rib fractures which required a chest drain as well as a fractured left arm.Leon Kondol, defending, told the court:"This was a horrific incident and it is not pleasant viewing.Sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month by Sheriff Brian Cameron who continued Gray's remand in custody meantime.
