You can have your say on the plans now
Manchester Central, formerly the Gmex, has submitted a planning application to transform the existing Cobden Rooms at the front of the building. Bosses say that the move would ‘allude to the original concept’ of the Cobden Rooms, which were built in 2007.
“The Cobden Rooms occupy a section of the existing venue that is currently considered to be under-utilised,” a design and access statement said. “The brief calls for a cosmetic and internal reconfiguration of the space to provide a new type of spatial provision more aligned with current requirements for a contemporary venue such as Manchester Central.”
"We can confirm we have submitted a planning application to repurpose and transform our Cobden Rooms area into a bar, restaurant and flexible meeting space.
