Nottinghamshire Police have launched a witness appeal
Three people have been charged with possessing a knife in a public place and wounding with intent after a man's hand was slashed in Nottingham city centre. Officers were called to Union Road after a man reportedly suffered a slash wound to his hand at around 11.15pm on Saturday, October 21.
Fadle Manzar, 21, and Hammad Sajid, aged 18, both of Sophie Road, Hyson Green, and a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have all been charged with possessing a knife in a public place and wounding with intent in connection with the incident. They were due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday . Detectives believe there could have been a number of witnesses to the alleged incident, due to its location, and would like to hear from anyone with information or footage.Detective Sergeant Lisa Jones, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We treat any incident involving knives extremely seriously and have been able to charge three people with serious offences.
“There is a large student accommodation complex close by and with it being a Saturday night there may have been a number of people out and about. If you have any information, or phone, CCTV, dash-cam or doorbell footage of the incident, please get in touch with police.” Anyone with any information should call police on 101, quoting incident 776 of October 21, 2023, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
