The new packaging has sparked outrage among some shoppers
A major supermarket's move to introduce new packaging for some of its products has created outrage amongst some shoppers. The packaging, introduced by high street retailer Sainsbury's has been described as 'inappropriate' by some shoppers, with others even claiming that it has 'ruined' their food entirely.
Another added: "@sainsburys your new beef packaging has ruined the meat, all for less plastic in general but the quality of the meat was dry and clumped like crazy." The social media user rated the move "-1/10". Another agreed telling the retailer: "As much as I praise your efforts to reduce your plastic waste, the end product isn't great. Been having to use this for a couple of weeks and it just comes out one giant lump of meat.... not ideal for cooking." Someone else agreed, adding: "Plus the new packaging makes the mince look a vile brown colour and is no longer minced when used. Like a big dollop of meat.
