The 18-year-old has now lost his no claims bonus and faces having to get two buses to work
A young Scots teenager who spent months saving up for his treasured £10k motor has been left devastated after ruthless crooks smashed it up before tearing it to pieces for parts. Dylan Laidlaw discovered the badly-damaged Vauxhall Corsa on Sunday morning after leaving it parked up overnight at Livingston South train station, West Lothian.
Police Scotland have confirmed they are investigating. The apprentice scaffolder told Edinburgh Live : "I had to save up for months for a three grand down payment then I need to do so much overtime to afford the finance and insurance. "They need to send someone from my insurance to look at it before they decide what's going to happen next. It's a £10k car that I paid for all by myself. I've not been driving a year and that's my full year no claims ruined."
During the shocking incident another Edinburgh resident also had their Vauxhall car targeted and torn apart by the thugs. It has been suggested these are not isolated incidents.
