Incredibly sad
Sinead O'Connor was looking forward to writing new music with her brand-new guitar just days before her tragic death. Confirming the news of Sinead's death at 56-years-old on Wednesday, the Irish singer's devastated family issued a statement which read: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad. Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.
"I look like s**t either way which is why I didn't want to make a video. But you know the way your kid, unfortunately, passes away, it isn't good for one's body or soul to be fair. But anyways, let's not dwell on that." The video clip also saw Sinead show off her black Martin Johnny Cash electro acoustic guitar which hung on her living room wall and she told her fans and followers alike that she had plans to make new music. Sinead also hinted that she would release a new album 'next year' and 'hopefully' start touring again, with dates in Ireland, the UK, Australia and New Zealand in 2024 and 2025.
Her beloved son Shane took his own life after he went missing a few days prior. Following his disappearance, police had launched an appeal to help find him but Sinead later confirmed he had died as a result of suicide.
