Heavy delays are already being reported
Google traffic data suggests there are delays of at least 22 minutes on the road. A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "Drivers are being advised to avoid the M1 southbound between junctions 26 and 25 after it was closed following a three-vehicle collision. Delays are expected for much of the evening in both directions while the vehicles are recovered."
