Residents in a Nottinghamshire village have shared what it is like to be less than 50 miles from Skegness. Harby is a small village in the Newark and Sherwood District, located a stone#s throw away from Doddington and less than 20 minutes from the city centre of Lincoln
Over the summer months, many residents make their way to Skegness as it's just a case of turning on to Gainsborough Road, getting on the A46 and following the A158. Carer, Diane Freshkney, 66, of Harby, said: "We would have gone to Skegness and we used to take the dogs, but she's an old girl now and she suffers with her hip."We used to go miles with them at Skegness, and Ingoldmells and Cleethorpes and places like that.
The retired 72-year-old man said: "I've been before but not a lot lately. The last time we went was earlier in the year, I think it's a bit dismal now, like a lot of these seaside towns in the UK but the smaller ones seem to be ok. Retired, Brian Rippard, 75, said: "If we go to the seaside, it's probably twice in five years, but there's a good reason for that." He explained that he grew up in Withernsea and "by the time I left there I was fed up of the seaside."
