A leading gynaecologist has shared the six warning signs of endometriosis that people should never ignore. As reported by NYU Langone Health, gynecologic surgeon Dr Kathy Huang, MD, has explained how people suffer with symptoms for years as they are told the pains are "normal".
Cramping is indeed normal, but substantial pain that impacts your quality of life is concerning. If period pain keeps you from going to work or school or sends you to bed for just even a day or two each month, see a doctor. Painful sexual intercourse Pain during sex can be a sign of different things, but inflammation of scar tissue around the pelvis, endometriosis can cause painful sex. Dr Huang said: "Patients have reported painful intercourse to the point that they want to avoid intercourse altogether."
