A Met Office thunderstorm warning has been issued for Yorkshire today as we face a bank holiday weekend washout.
The Government agency has predicted scattered showers which are "heavy and locally thundery". Thunder has been predicted in Sheffield at 3pm, with stormy weather in Huddersfield and Bradford.The warning will last from 11am to 8pm today, August 26. Wet weather conditions could lead to flooding of some homes and businesses, the Met Office said, with train delays possible.
For today's weather, The Met Office has predicted: "A rather cloudy start with a few isolated showers. The cloud will lift and break, allowing some sunny spells but also scattered showers to develop. Some of these will be heavy and locally thundery, particularly during the afternoon. Maximum temperature 19C."
