In a bid to reduce waste packaging, the European Commission plans to ban tiny bottles of shampoo and shower gel in hotels throughout the EU.
If you love nothing better than stocking up on mini toiletries when visiting a new hotel , new rules may soon put a stop to your holiday habits.
This means the complimentary miniature bottles that often greet us in hotel bathrooms will soon be a thing of the past. While we’ll be sad to wave goodbye to these adorable toiletries, we fully understand the reason behind the move – as the minis use lots of plastic and paper. The idea has come about as the European Commission plans to reduce the carbon footprint of the EU within the next decade – making the packaging industry carbon neutral by 2050.
