Two men have been arrested by detectives after a man was seen with a firearm in Coalisland, Co Tyrone.
It followed an incident in the Washingbay Road area on Thursday evening when a significant police presence was seen in the Canal Quay area of the town.Police said they received reports at around 7.35pm that a man had been spotted with a firearm.The 31-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm in suspicious circumstances, possessing an article with a blade or point in a public place and threats to damage property.
The 37-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, possessing an article with a blade or point in a public place, possessing ammunition in suspicious circumstances and threats to damage property."Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 1495 of 04/08/22."
