A number of travellers have returned to the UK with the serious illness.
British holidaymakers have been issued a travel warning if they are heading to Turkey any time soon, following an outbreak of a serious illness. It has been reported that the condition has broken out at various holiday hotspots in the country, and is linked to Salmonella.
Most of the infected people had travelled to and stayed in hotels in the Antalya region of Turkey. The investigation was started after 241 confirmed cases were discovered. Authorities have yet to take direct action due to the lack of source, so travellers are expected to take preventative action on their own behalf. Reports claim that 56 per cent of cases in the Salmonella cluster were male, with an average age of 29.
