Vladimir Putin boasts of 'unprecedented hypersonic missiles' which 'no other countries have'. Russia has previously claimed to have used hypersonic missiles against Ukraine

Russian troops have freed a celebrated healthcare worker who used a body camera to record her work in Mariupol.

Mr Scholz said his message to Mr Putin was that"you have to withdraw your troops and you have to find an agreement with Ukraine which is acceptable and right for the people of Ukraine". "The difference between Soviet and Western weapons is the Soviet weapons have almost no safety systems. And Western weapons have three, four, even five on each unit."

A brutal contest is now being waged for this beleaguered city. In pictures provided to the Sky News by the Svoboda Battalion, we see Russian tanks spray city streets with machine-gun fire and shells - while Russian artillery pounds apartment blocks, factories and businesses. In Severodonetsk, the Russians used artillery to blow out all three bridges which link it to Ukrainian-controlled territory. The city is now cut off from all forms of road transport and many have predicted a full Ukrainian withdrawal. Yet Commander Kuzyk says they have been able to cope.

"They are in the most vulnerable place because sooner or later the plant will be destroyed," he said. Boris Johnson had angered some MPs after he pulled out of a conference in Doncaster at the last minute. "Visits are sometimes necessary in person because not everything can be discussed securely over phones etc. Russia has an aggressive electronic warfare and signal intelligence operation," he said. Russian shelling has made a key highway out of the Ukrainian city of Lysychansk impassable, Luhansk regional governor Serhiy Haidai has said in an online post.
