Kirsten McCormack raised around £4000 for Crisis with the three-day trek

A West Lothian woman who raised funds for a homelessness charity with a 58km trek in Iceland has thanked those who donated.

Reflecting on her trip, Kirsten told the Courier: “I made it back in one piece! It was an amazing experience and one thing I learned is that ice cold river crossings are perfect to deal with pain. Nothing hurt at all, so I think that’s the secret. She added: “The second day was very Scottish - heavy rain with winds blowing it right in your face. Some of my colleagues said they weren’t used to that sort of weather but I’ve been through that plenty of times.Kirsten confessed that while she’s not got plans for any further fundraising adventures, she’s certainly not ruling it out, saying: “I think my body and brain don’t always talk to each other properly. I was asked afterwards if I’d do it again and I thought obviously not.
