Arson arrests over 48-trailer £2m fire in Peterborough
Three people have been charged with arson in connection with two incidents, including one which destroyed 48 trailers at the headquarters of domestic appliance giant Whirlpool.Damage was estimated at about £2m.
Black smoke could be seen for miles around the Shrewsbury Avenue site in the city after the fire broke out at about 19:00 BST.Eight crews from four counties tackled the blaze Cambridgeshire Police have now said three people have been charged "in connection with a large-scale arson in Peterborough two years ago".
