Birks Farm in Lytham rose to fame when Tom Pemberton appeared in BBC show The Fast And The Farmer(ish)
A dairy farmer who has become a YouTube sensation has unveiled plans to open a farm shop café on their Lytham site.
Tom rose to fame last year when, after amassing 90 million views on YouTube, he was unveiled as the face of BBC show The Fast And The Farmer, a seven-part series providing a glimpse into the lives of young farmers across the country. The Pembertons have now revealed they hope to open a café on the back of the success of their farm shop which opened in 2017.Andrew said: "When it comes to sourcing produce for the shop, we consider what our customers want and what is right for us to sell.
Andrew said that the farm shop café will use ingredients and produce from the farm, as well as having a space for customers to view the farm animals to help them learn about the food production cycle. He added: “The success of the business is not only down to the family’s dedication but the support and help of all our farm shop staff. We can only be as good as the people we employ and we are very lucky to have such a wonderful team.
“And all of the money we have made from the social media side of the business is reinvested into the farm and its diversifications to push them forward. It is really important to showcase farming to consumers and social media offers us a real chance to promote. By watching the videos, the public can see what happens on our farm and learn about the lives of our Aberdeen Angus cows before they become beef sold on our farm shop shelves.
